55 degrees was founded in June 2006 when the Bonanno family purchased Langdon Shiverick. In April 2007, the Bonannos merged their two Ohio distributorships, 55 degrees and Estate Wines. This union formed our statewide fine wine distributorship and cemented our unwavering commitment to quality.

BonAnno History

For three generations the Bonanno family has been importing and distributing premium wine. Based in Dayton, Ohio, Francis Bonanno started importing wines in the 1950’s. His sons, Frank and Ardie, expanded the family business building one of the largest wine wholesalers in Ohio and among the top 10 importers in the country. In the late 1990’s, Ardie and Frank sold the family businesses but Ardie’s passion for wine led him back to his roots. In 2003, he founded Estate Wine Company based in Dayton. Now the Bonannos' own and operate the family owned business 55 degrees.

Building from an existing distributorship, the 55 degrees team has taken this organization to new heights. Ardie and his passionate team of wine professionals are committed to excellence in service and continually strive to stay on the cutting edge with our portfolio, technology, marketing and approach.

Our thoughtful and balanced portfolio contains comprehensive, regional selections of some of the finest estates and winemakers in the world. While we provide small company service and focus, our statewide distribution from 2-temperature controlled warehouses offers large company delivery and support.
